Family Planning Association of Bangladesh (FPAB), an affiliate of International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), is the oldest and largest family planning non-government organization in Bangladesh. Established/Founded in 1953, it pioneered the family planning movement in the country.

FPAB aims to improve the quality of lives of individuals, by campaigning for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) through advocacy and services, especially for poor and vulnerable people.

Family Planning Association of Bangladesh (FPAB) is seeking applications for the following positions:

Position: Program Officer (Knowledge Management Centre)

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Knowledge Management Centre of FPAB.
  • Creating an effective system of knowledge in the organization is the collection of expertise, experience and information that individuals and workgroups use during the execution of their tasks.
  • Develop, execute, and track the knowledge management and communications (KMC) strategy. Manage and update the KMC work plan and assist in team coordination.
  • Activated learning repository of information, data base, news and updates that can be effectively utilized by all the stakeholders such as Government, Consultants, Academia, Citizens, Policy makers, Development Professionals, Consultancy & Research community working in the domain of Health section specifically SRHR including FP.
  • Ensure utilization of Library/Documentation Centre by the Volunteers/Officers and Students/ Researchers.
  • Organize regular knowledge and sharing meetings/workshops at organizational, local, regional and national level.
  • Provide orientation/ training to the students of Social Welfare Department of various Colleges & Dhaka University, as assigned with FPAB as part of their practical course.
  • Keeping records of all the incoming reading materials/books in the documentation centre.
  • Maintain borrowers register for reading materials in the documentation, reminding to the defaulters and recommend necessary steps for getting back the materials.
  • Ensure regular paper clipping services to IPPF and keep authority informed of matters of interest.
  • Communicate with different publishers for free samples of reading materials / books.
  • Proof reading and provide technical advice to any publication in advocacy or other Sections for improvement.
  • Arrange meeting, training & seminars as & when assigned by the authority.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Social Science/ Communication/ Public Relations/Development/Journalism/ English/ Social Work/ Population science or any relevant field from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 5 (five) years’ professional experience in research, international development, or knowledge management
  • Experience of engaging with the media
  • Knowledge of IT systems, web-design and/or knowledge management software
  • Excellent communications skills in both spoken and written forms
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an experience working in a team; ability to effectively interact with and work alongside people at all levels in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment

Salary : Taka 45,000/-

Age: Maximum 40 years

Other Benefits: Other Benefits: Two yearly festival bonuses (each equivalent to one month’s basic salary); Baishakhi allowance and other benefits as per FPAB Human Resource Manual
