To qualify, candidates must be within the age range of 21 to 30 years old. Those born between November 2, 1993, and November 2, 2002, are eligible to apply. However, exceptions apply: the maximum age for applicants who are children of freedom fighters, physically challenged individuals, and BCS health cadre candidates is set at 32 years.

The 46th notification for the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) has been officially released by the Public Service Commission (PSC). This announcement became available on the PSC website one Thursday afternoon. Eligible candidates are invited to start applying for these positions from December 10 2023.

Eligible candidates are required to complete the application process online. They must fill out the application form provided by the PSC on their website. Preliminary Exam Subject and Mark Distribution

The distribution of marks and subjects for the Preliminary Exam is as follows:

Bengali Language and Literature: 35 marks
English Language and Literature: 35 marks
Bangladesh Affairs: 30 marks
International Affairs: 20 marks
Geography (Bangladesh and World), Environment and Disaster Management: 10 marks
General Science: 15 marks
Computer and Information Technology: 15 marks
Mathematical Reasoning: 15 marks
Mental Skills: 15 marks
An assessment worth 10 marks on ethics, values, and good governance.

These subjects comprise the Preliminary Exam for the 46th BCS, with allocated marks for each section.

Positions available in different cadres for the 46th BCS

Most of the available 3,140 positions will be allocated in the health cadre. Specifically, there will be recruitment for 1,682 BCS assistant surgeons and 16 assistant dental surgeons. Following this, the highest number of positions will be in the education cadre, with 520 individuals to be recruited for BCS education across various subjects.

Positions in other cadres include 274 in BCS administration, 10 in foreign affairs, 80 in the police force, 14 in Ansar, 26 in fisheries, and 65 in public works. The preliminary exam for the 46th BCS is expected to take place in March after the completion of the application process.
