U.S. Embassy Dhaka is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Program Assistant (Project Assistant).

Under the direct supervision of the Resident Legal Advisor (RLA), the Project Assistant (PA) provides support and assistance to DOJ/OPDAT’s overall program implementation. In coordination with the Assistant Legal Advisor (ALA), the PA will monitor the timely implementation of all programs within the State/Counterterrorism (CT) and International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) portfolios. In coordination with the Assistant Legal Advisor (ALA), the PA will monitor the timely implementation of all programs within the State/Counterterrorism (CT) and International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) portfolios. Job holder shall assist the RLA(s) in developing, and implementing projected program outputs, outcomes, and program objectives. Job holder shall assist with the logistical arrangements related to all programmatic activity; including presentations, seminars and trainings organized by the RLA(s) and/or ALA. The PA shall closely monitor, review and update all DOJ/OPDAT budget related expenses, including fund cites for the overall section, programs and administrative budgets. The PA shall maintain records of all project and program information. The PA shall carry out administrative duties, including drafting correspondence, agendas, and program documents at the request of the RLA(s).

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, Human Rights, International Politics, Criminal Justice, Project and/or Program Management is required. (You must attach a copy of your degree certificate along with your application form.)
  • Minimum of two years of project coordination involving donor and/or government funded programs, including project and/or program management assistance is required. Experience in criminal justice reform, international humanitarian law, and/or international human rights and access to justice is required.
  • Fluent (speaking / reading / writing) in English and Bangla. This may be tested.
