About the Role:
BRAC International (BI) is seeking an Officer, Procurement to join our Corporate Affairs team in Bangladesh who is aligned with its ethos of working in partnership with communities to create impact for scale. As a core member of the Corporate Affairs unit, the incumbent will provide timely and effective procurement related support to all BRAC International staff under the guidance of the Manager, Procurement. This position will also play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods and services as per BI Procurement Guidelines and Procedures (BIPGP). The Corporate Affairs Officer will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement process, from sourcing suppliers to negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurements
- Coordinate with BRAC Procurement Team.
- Initiate requisitions in ERP and ensure products and services are available on time.
- Purchasing goods and services according to BRAC International Procurement Manual ensuring compliance issues as well as maintaining on-time delivery to BI and other affiliated subsidiaries.
- Maintain a robust supplier database and ensure supplier performance meets the organization’s standards.
- Provide support on maintaining the Procurement Work Plan/ Procurement Register in a timely manner.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, solicitations, and tender documents.
- Provide any additional support as required by the team on an ad hoc basis.
Administration
- Support day-to-day administrative requirements including logistics and distribution of materials among staff.
- Responsible for BI’s floor management which consists of renovations, equipment support/ maintenance
- Coordinate mail distribution, shipping, and receiving
- Manage office assistants to provide timely support.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Read, understand, practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.
Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor/Master’s in any discipline from a reputed University.
Required Skills, Competencies & Knowledge:
- Excellent speaking, writing, and facilitation skills.
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to work under pressure and with tight timelines.
- Possess high ethical and moral standards.
- Overseeing and traveling to the project site when required.
- Strong interpersonal communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Sensible and adaptive to diverse work cultures.
- Can follow direct instructions and carry out assignments with minimal supervision.
- A collaborative team worker
Experience Requirements:
- At least 01 years’ experience in Admin and/or Procurement.
