The Saudi Embassy Issued a Record Number of Visas in a Single Day

Isa Bin Yusuf Al Dahlan, the Saudi Ambassador to Dhaka, said the Saudi Embassy in Dhaka had issued 12,300 Visas on 24th February 2022, which is a new record for one-day visa issues. And last week, the Saudi embassy in Dhaka was issued 36,000 Visas. He made the remarks at a press conference at his office on Wednesday afternoon.

He spoke to reporters ahead of the Saudi Foreign Minister’s upcoming visit. Isa Bin Yusuf Al Dahlan said that Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud is coming to Dhaka on 16th March 2022 at the invitation of Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen. At this time, he will take part in the first political dialogue led by the Foreign Ministers of the two nations. During his visit to Bangladesh, he will discuss identifying potential investment areas.

Manpower export is a major area of ​​Saudi Arabia’s relationship with Bangladesh for a long time. In this context, the Saudi Ambassador said that, so far at least 2.3 million Bangladeshis are working in various sectors in the Middle East. Although the export of manpower was stopped due to corona infection, the recruitment of Bangladeshi workers did not stop.

Isa Bin Yusuf Al Dahilan also said that Saudi Visas have been issued to more than 1.4 million Bangladeshi workers in the last five years. On November 1 last year, 6,500 visas were issued in one day. And on February 24 this year, 12,300 visas were issued in one day, which is a new record.
