Position: Financial Analyst, UPGI, BRAC International

Job Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh

About the Role:

The purpose of this position is to ensure effective and efficient financial management of BRAC International countries including its monitoring, financial reporting for external and internal stakeholders, effective liaison with the country finance team to ensure financial control and management etc.

supporting financial management and strengthening the Accounts payable management for various processes including but not limited to Travel management and other payables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and settle staff reimbursement claims according to company policies.
  • Process and manage vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payment as back up of Finance Manager.
  • Gather, analyze, and format data for various financial reports to support the management.
  • Reconcile payable and receivable accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare aging schedules to track outstanding payables and receivables.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all payments, including those made to non-registered countries, adhering to relevant regulations.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and other ad-hoc finance projects.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of internal controls and best practices for payables management.
  • Identifying and driving process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools and Excel dashboards
  • To accomplish any other duties as delegated by supervisors.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Academic Qualifications:

  • MBA /M.com in Finance/Accounts

Required Skills, Competencies & Knowledge:

  • Computer proficiency on MS office.
  • Orientation with ERP & finance module.
  • Strong interpersonal/ communication skills.
  • Ability to take independent decisions.
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills.
  • Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions.

Experience Requirements:  

Salary: Negotiable

  • Having 2-3 years practical experience. Having experience of working in international NGO will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in donor funded projects & treasury management with understanding about rules and regulation of major donors.
