Android 12 New Features and Supported Devices

Google has announced the beta version of Android 12 at the Google I/O 2021 online live stream event. This new version of Android has undergone significant changes. From visual design to core-software, the 12th edition of Android has received a touch of innovation in every field.

Interface Design

The user interface has been completely streamlined in Android 12. This new interface design is called “Material You,” which will change based on user’s usage.

When the user will changes his wallpaper then the settings, the notification panel, quick settings, all the system apps of the whole phone will change by following the color scheme of the set wallpaper.

In other words, the opportunity to use wallpaper based themes is going to come on Android 12. As the theme changes, so do the widgets. The design of the volume slider has also changed.

Quick Settings and Notification Panel

Fully customizable notification panel and quick settings panel. Moving away from the previous rounded panel, a more rectangular shaped panel will be seen on Android 12. Quick settings will be easier to use for this new shape.

Quick settings tiles for Google Home and Google Pay will be available on Android 12. In addition, two more quick tiles will be added to facilitate microphone and camera access with one click. The change will be seen in the brightness slider icon. The option to pin an app or action in the quiz settings is also being added to Android 12.

Lock Screen

The lock screen is also changing to Android 12. Animation will be shown on Android 12 based on how you are unlocking the phone. For example, if you unlock the phone with the power button, the screen light-up animation will be displayed from the side of the power button.

If there is no notification, the lock screen clock will be displayed in large size Also the color of the lock screen clock will change automatically to match the wallpaper. Calendar events and weather updates can also be seen from the lock screen. There has also been a change in the lock screen pin type menu, which looks a lot like iOS.

New Gestures

Gestures have been added to Android 12. Swipe down in the navigation bar to see the one-handed mode, which makes the phone comfortable to operate with one hand. Users can also set any action of their choice by tapping the back of the screen with the back tap gesture. The feature of launching Google Assistant by holding the power button has also been added to Android 12.

Performance

The performance of Android 12 has got the touch of change. Users will get better experience using Android than before for the benefit of smooth motion and animation. In the case of Android system servers, CPU usage has decreased by 22 percent, which will result in a significant improvement in performance in Android 12.

Privacy

Whenever an app accesses the phone’s microphone or camera, icons and dots will be shown in the top right corner of the screen on Android 12. This will allow users to take action on their privacy.

In the settings, a section called Privacy Dashboard has been added to Android 12. In this section, detailed information about when an app has accessed and is doing data on the phone can be found in the form of timeline.

More New Features

Any Android TV can be controlled through Android 12 powered phone. Chrome book can also be unlocked through Android phone. All the pictures on the phone can be seen in the Chrome book. It will be possible to control cars, TVs, laptops, etc. through Android 12 powered phones.

Android 12 Release Date

Google has just launched the first beta version of Android 12. For some time, Android 12K will be tested by better testers. The idea is that the stable version of Android 12 may be released in August or soon.
