Mohammad Sahabuddin is Nominated As The New President of Bangladesh
Chhatra League politics in his student life, participation in the Great Liberation War of 1971, joining the judiciary and later becoming the Commissioner of ACC, Mohammad Sahabuddin. Awami League has nominated him as the next president of the country.
General Secretary of Awami League Obaidul Quader said this after submitting his nomination papers for the post of President at the Election Commission at 11:00 on Sunday. Today he highlighted various aspects of Mohammad Sahabuddin’s life. He will be the 22th President of Bangladesh.
Obaidul Quader said that Bangladesh Awami League has nominated Mohammad Sahabuddin as the next president of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Awami League Honorable President and Bangladesh Awami League Parliamentary Party Chief Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina finalized this nomination.
Mohammad Sahabuddin became a member of the advisory council in the last conference of Awami League. He was born in 1949 in Pabna. He was the convenor of Swadhin Bangla Chhatra Sangam Parishad in Pabna district in 1971 and participated in the Great Liberation War.
He served as the President of Pabna District Chhatra League during his student life and served as the President of Pabna District Jubo League in 1974. In 1975, after the brutal assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Sahabuddin was imprisoned.
He joined the BCS (Judicial) Department in 1982 and was elected as the General Secretary of the Judicial Service Association in 1995. He served as the coordinator appointed by the Law Ministry in the Bangabandhu assassination case.
Mohammad Sahabuddin served as the Chairman of the Judicial Inquiry Commission formed after the 2001 General Elections to investigate the killings, rapes and looting and anti-humanity activities committed by the BNP-Jamaat alliance leaders and activists.
Mohammad Sahabuddin is the father of one son. His wife Professor Rebecca Sultana is a former joint secretary to the government.
Mohammad Sahabuddin served as District and Sessions Judge and Commissioner of Anti-Corruption Commission.
