Jungkook from BTS makes history with his performance at the Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022 Opening Ceremony
Jungkook became the first Korean musician to play in the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony on November 20 after his stunning world-class performance was narrated by a surprise guest.
After visiting the country at the end of October for an unannounced schedule, Jungkook was confirmed to perform in the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 on November 12.

Jungkook finally performed during the World Cup with Qatari musician Fahad Al Kubaisi, singing the song “Dreamers,” which was produced by the well-known Moroccan singer, composer, and producer RedOne. The Moroccan artist has collaborated with international superstars such as Lady Gaga, Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, One Direction, Usher, and others.
As the first performance ended, a medley of prior World Cup anthems played, including “Waka Waka” by Shakira and “La Copa de la Vida” by Ricky Martin, as previous World Cup mascots took the stage and flags of the participating countries flew.
Jungkook charmed the audience with his charisma and great vocal abilities, surrounded by backing dancers. The stirring performance went down without a hitch, with Jungkook effortlessly delivering a world-class stage performance.
The BTS maknae was joined at the end of the performance by Qatari singer Fahad Al Kubaisi, and the two completed the song with an emotional moment united at center stage.
