Flight Operations Will Be Halted For 5 Hours Every Night in Next Two Months
Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport is undergoing runway renovations. As a result, flights will be suspended from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Thursday (February 2) through April 3.
On Wednesday, Shahjalal Airport Executive Director Group Captain Mohammad Kamrul Islam verified the situation (February 1). He stated that work on constructing the runway lighting system is now ongoing. Flights will be halted for five hours every night for the next two months as a result.
According to airport officials, there may be an increase in flights from 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. as a result of this work. To deal with this scenario, however, collaboration with all parties involved, beginning with the traffic department, will be carried out. In addition, a monitoring team has been developed to oversee the implementation of these strategies. The airport authorities apologized for the disruption caused to travellers.
